PCD Pressure Control Device

PCD is a new method developed by Fraunhofer UMSICHT for the prevention of water hammer in pipe systems. The advantages of PCD are:

  • Reduction of pressure peaks due to closing processes or throttle processes of shut-off valves
  • Passive safety system without demand for additional energy
  • Adaptable closing characteristic of the shut-off valve
  • Easily applicable in already existing pipe systems
  • Optimum adaptation to operational parameters


KAVITASĀ® is a new method for the prevention of cavitational hammer using an additional valve (e.g. check valve). The advantages of KAVITASĀ® are:

  • Reduction of cavitational hammer
  • Easily applicable in already existing pipe systems
